I have always believed that when we meet new friends, we have an opportunity to learn from one another. Often, I realize, acquaintanceship is transitory, and that may be meaningful as well, but I cherish the times when we can forge stronger, longer lasting bonds with others, particularly those that have different perspectives.
This is my friend Cleo and I am lucky to have met her, particularly at the time that I did.
I have often found that I second-guess myself and put little trust in my intuition. I can' t prove it or explain clearly to others when called upon to do so, which is fairly often, as all of my friends and family think analytically (to a fault, actually.) And when my feelings are proven true, they insist that I never spoke specifically and forcefully enough to warn them, but I fear the fault may lie more with their inability to listen to anything not immediately evident to THEIR senses. I am actually highly offended by their ignorance, as they seem to imply that I am lying, or deluded, whether or not the truth is proven in the end. And truth (verity) is very important to me. I am actually really very angry writing this, as I have now found a kind of peace (denied me by their constant harping) in trusting my judgment, whether rational or not.
But, Cleo led me to this place of comfort - and knowledge, might I add - almost without my recognizing her lead for the gift it was.
And on a kind of karmic roundabout, I was able to support another with this greater sense of understanding and connection to those around me. I felt I needed to call an old friend this past weekend (out of the blue) and I had such a sense of urgency that my hands shook. I spent time with her over the weekend - and she revealed what straits she was in emotionally.
I was lucky to have had the opportunity to be there for her.
I feel that as our paths cross in time and location, some of those we meet provide life lessons that help us on this journey - and guide us to become better people - despite our fears and insecurities. As we share our strengths, we weave a web that connects us all.

miranth that is lovely and so true
if we allow others into our lives, and treat them as someone we can learn from , we are rarely disappointed.
regardless of how long they may visit for they can be more life changing than we initially realise. As you said long lasting relationships can begin in the most unlikely of places.
I didn't get to meet Cleo the other night (I did wonder who everyone was talking about) but she looks lovely, such a warm natural smile.
Please pass on a hello from me
I don't believe I was at Mayo's at the time when Cleo made an appearance, so please say hello to her for me.
I'm glad you stopped by last night. It's been a while since we last had a conversation. I'm glad.
I hope you're well miranth. Have a wonderful day and weekend *hugs*
Hi there Miranth!
Good to see you around again a bit more often. =)
So this is the lovely Cleo who forwarded your message the other night. That was very kind of her. The blogworld can be a scary place. =)
I was recalling the other day how you mentioned meeting up with William from TAI at Taste Of Chaos, yes. Or was it Warped? My mind wanders somedays. ;) Well, anyway, they came here after you met them, as support for PATD. General consensus from reviewers and music show presenters was that TAI performed better then Panic. so there you go. The boys did well. =)
Hope you're all warm and ready for winter. See you. =)
Miranth,
Hey, Sweetie. I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to get over here. This was such a wonderful post, and as Ergo said, so true. Sometimes when everything seems like it's falling apart, and you trust no one, you find someone who brings it all back into perspective for you. I'm so glad you reached out to the other person and spent time with them.
Cleo must be a wonderful and kind friend. Even though I don't know her, please tell her hi from me, and thanks for being there for you.
J. is my rock, my friend, my sister-in-arms. I don't know what I would do without her.
I have read your comments the times that I have ventured over to read Mayo's, (I will be back on soon, finally feeling a little better) and I thank you so much for the kind words, and for being so nice to everyone there.
Love you,
L.
That was beautiful Miranth. Special friends make life worth living.
Thanks Miranth sweetie for your lovely words at my blog.
I hope I can go on to more exciting things. Time will tell.
I hope things are getting more settled for you. So much upheaval.
I hope things get better for both of us.

Anon,
I befriended dickweed because I believe he speaks his mind and I strongly suspect he may have been trying to draw away mean anons. If you have issues with someone, please address the person directly. I detest the words you used to describe someone - a person, mind you - and I shall delete said description because I don't like it here. This post is about friendship and support for a reason.
I do believe we need to work together to maintain a sense of harmony at the castle. And I sincerely hope we can reach that goal.
You sound as if you've been hurt, and I hope you can find it in your heart to direct that feeling more proactively. I also hope that if you do address the person you have issues with, in an honorable way, that she will listen.
Having said all that, I recognize that this really isn't any of my business - and I rarely address this kind of grievance as my words are posted everywhere without my consent.
PP - Hi! I hope you are well!
William really is a nice guy and I am glad to hear they are doing well. They are very talented, too! :)
I may not have to prepare for winter so much as I am considering a move. I am still in the fact gathering stage and coordinating efforts with others who live there. I am on the fence about two possible cities, but I am already getting pretty excited! :) We'll see. What are you up to?
L - Thank you, and its good to 'see' you! :) I am very, very glad to hear you are feeling better! I know J is there for you and I suspect you are there for her, too! We all need friends like that, through thick and thin, and it helps our friendships grow stronger. Cleo actually helped me see situations and relationships differently - and myself, as well. I feel stronger having known her, and I realize how special that is.
I do miss you over at mayo's very much! And I hope to see you there soon. Your support and kindness is also very much appreciated.
*hug*
MissT - Thank you! I have faith that we will reach our goals, but I do recognize the sense of upheaval (though I try to phrase it as 'challenge!' :) but I am optimistic, as I hope you are too. :)
Challenge, I like that Miranth. We'll both get there sweetie.

hi miranth!
thanks for stopping by and thank you for your kind words.
the studying is ridiculously slow going! but i will get there in the end!
i seem to be magnetically drawn to mayo's! i miss it when i don't get chance to pop in. i miss catching up on news!
anyway so i am blog hopping instead of studying!
take care miranth and hope to see you around sometime.
Hi Miranth.
Thank you for popping by the other day. Things are okay, just having a bad one but the offer of an ear is greatly appreciated and I value your kindness.
Be well,
GS x
Hiya Miranth!
The power we all have inside us is so grand and so few of us are able to tap into it. It is a gift to you, that you can feel it all inside of you, and you can use it to reach others. I hope you can hold onto that. That being said, Hello!
I've missed reading your name around blogbelieve! It sounded like you were going through some rough and big changes, and that you may not have been able to come back here. But here you are Miranth! I am so happy to read you at Mayo's! I take that as a good sign that things are working out in your life for you as well! (Or at least will be getting better for you soon.)
You have been missed! It is always a pleasure to read you!! And it is getting better and better at Mayo's with everyone returning to where they belong!! I hope to catch you soon! Please take care!! Loves! <333 l/d
Heyaz Miranth!
Just wanted to add quickly before I am off to bed - I actually thought BlogBelieve was Better than the 'real world' too, but I think now it is actually just the same! -Can go either way. It is the people of BB however, that are the real magic. (And you know that is including you loves!) And we all know real magic relies on faith right?? We just need to work on it(together), I think!
I had so missed ya name! We do get along so well. And I think that is truly that none of us are too different from the other. Not really. We are all so alike, I think that is the best part of friendship -figuring that 'same-ness' out! ;p
And may I add -Cleo has a the biggest, most lovely smile I have seen in ages! Please tell her for me!! I had forgot to say that last night!
It was great to see you Miranth! Hope we catch each other again soon! Love to ya! <33l/d
I need to go to bed! ;p But I had to goggle E Gorey! And guess what!? WHOA! I actually have a postcard of a print of his -framed and up (well, before the move! But will be again shortly!)! How insane is that!? I have seen the little cartoon bit he drew for a (detective?) show on KQED for nearly all my youth! I recognized the style right away! More proof Miranth!
Thank you for the recommendation! May I give one back!?? :D You probably know them! I think you have a degree in art you said?? Marc Chagall and Alexander Calder! Two of my favorite artist's ever! Just love 'em! Even had a bit of a crush on them both! I am weird that way! ;p
Alrighty! Am really off now -just wanted to tell you how insane (and actually unsurprising!) that Yes I do like him! Have for years! Ah ha ha!! Glad to have given you back some old memories too boot -you did it to me too! Nutty!! -loves!!
Miranth,
Thanks for the advice last night. I hope you're well, and your niece too. Have a great Sunday.
*hugs*
Hello Miranth! Thank you, so much, for dropping in at my place and for your wonderful words!
Cleo is absolutely beautiful. And, from this post about her, I know she's just as beautiful within. As are you, my friend!
I miss our adventures at Mayo's. We must get together for more sliding down banisters and drawing moustaches on works of art.
I wonder where we could draw a moustache on his latest piece? We'll think of something, I'm sure!
;)
I hope you're enjoying the weekend. Please say hello to your niece for me and give her a big hug!
Hugs and Much Love,
Wendy
Hey Miranth, thank you for the sweet words on my blog, and for both me and J. on Mayo's. I am glad you are doing better. One day at a time...
There are some wonderful people at Mayo's, only a few bad (but really loud) anons spoil the bunch, but ignoring seems to be the key. I really think a lot of the anon comments are meant to turn people against others. There are some really sweet anons who come there as well, and they get overshadowed. I hope to see you around more (I'm a fine one to talk, I know ^_~)at Mayo's. It needs people like you.
Please say Hey! to Cleo for me!
Love ya,
L.
P.S. Your're right, J. is there for me and I am there for her. We have been through so much together, both good and bad. Mostly good, though! I love her dearly.
Did someone have the audacity to toy with you Miranth?
What a shame. What is this world coming to?
2:25 - I detect a note of sarcasm in your tone.
:)
I explained further just now. (And that wasn't the only incident, if you must know.)
Lewis!!!
There have been some unforeseen delays in my life changes, but things will work out. And they are not necessarily bad changes either. (I may not have internet access at that time, but I'll make a post to that effect.) I think to learn the most in this life, we have to take some risks. Also happiness and fulfillment are also possible through proactive change. That being said, I am still a bit worried, so your kindness means a lot! :)
You are right about BB - its the people who make it special - and that's no small feat! And we do have a lot in common :) Its fun to realize how much!
I have a few degrees - art being one of them. I can't settle on a damn thing! *shakes head* I do remember Chagall - I like his compositions and use of color, but most of all I smile when I see his work, as it has a 'visual harmony' to coin my own term. I think Calder's work is simpler and more striking? I don't remember his work as well, so I'll look it up! Thanks for the recommendations!
Gorey did the Mystery! intro. :)
*hugs* and take care lewis! I hope to see you around soon.!
Out of time! I'll be back later to respond to you BC, Wendy, and L! Thank you very much for your visits, though. I always like reading your thoughts (and might I add, kindnesses!)
Thanks you guys :)
I just read your comments at Mayo's. It was someone from the porch wasn't it?
Miranth,
Thank you so much for the comment. Yes, I'm feeling better, but today has been a day of cramps. Gah, but I'll deal with it. Ha.
I hope you're well. How is your niece doing? Good, I hope.
Take care *hugs*
Anon 7:22,
It doesn't matter.
She did me a favor (however inadvertently) and I wrote about the experience to support others who were hurt and left.
I was 'paying it forward' you might say.
I hope they read it.
good morning, miranth. thanks for stopping by my blog.
in answer to your question: those are all forms of "you". here's a great explanation of how it all breaks down. if you know a european language, this will seem very similar to you.
have a lovely day. :)
Boy do I know those "unforseen delays!" I think that is mostly what my life is made up of! ;p But like you Miranth, we just have to keep holding on. I do think things will get better for everyone, especially if they actually aim for it. Rather helps! And you have such a beautiful thought for life, I have no doubt you will be o.k. ;)
Yes, absolutely! I only wish Everyone Else realized this! We are all very much alike, and should be getting on so much better! But like I said Miranth, it is so comforting to know there is someone very far away, that just understands -or wants to. Ya know?? ;p
Ah! Why bother settling!? Learn everything! Sounds wonderful to me!! And I always felt like Chagall was painting his own worlds. Or rather, fantasies of them. And All That Color! Wow!! Yes, Calder is much more simple but also more sharp. They both have very unsual works. I loved Calders mobile's and jewelry. Just beautiful! Oh -and theres a little circus, of sorts. Crazy! ha!! You shall have to look them up when you get a chance. Won't be disappointed, for sure!
Myster Theatre! OMG! I had totally forgot the tittle! Thank ya much for that! I can even hear the tune now! Awesome! I remember it used to scare me though. But it sure stuck with me regardless! Ha!!
I do hope you are doing better Miranth! It is always nice to talk with ya, even if it is fleeting!! Love to you, be well! -Till next time! ;p
<33 l/d
Hey Miranth! How are things with you? I hope you are doing well, and your niece as well. I can only imagine how hard that is for your family when one is sick so young. Please give her a hug from me and J.
Take care, and hope to see you at Mayo's!
Love ya,
L.
Howdy Miranth, so I have a question for ya -you of the art degreed kind. ;p I really hope you don't mind all this! I just thought you might be able to help me!?
My sis has to do a poster for a (shakespeare) play, (of all things.. I so noted the irony..) but I want her to do it more abstact than straight forward. You see, she missed the first term when they actually studied the play and her teacher is not offering her any help. Ass. Did you ever see (or hear of) Metropolis? Very old. But I came across a poster that completely conveyed the idea I wanted to give to my sis. Again, I hope you don't mind! I greatly apologize if this bothers you Miranth! I won't do it again!
Here is the little summary:
"It is the future, and humans are divided into two groups: the thinkers, who make plans (but don't know how anything works), and the workers, who achieve goals (but don't have the vision). Completely separate, neither group is complete, but together they make a whole. One man from the "thinkers" dares visit the underground where the workers toil, and is astonished by what he sees..."
And here is the picture I sent her.
http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb272/knightwhitethe/0000-3458-4Metropolis-1928-Posters.jpg
(I hope that works!?)
I'm so sorry I can't link! I know there is a word for this kind of art? A concept yea? I'm afraid I could only afford 'self-education' thus far, so I am a little inept here! ;p But I wanted my sis to have the actual word for what she gives to that vile teacher!! Ya know!
So thank you kindly if ya know what I am even trying to say here! And if not, or you can't help me -I do appreciate you even reading this gastly long comment! ;p I hope you are doing well Miranth! Thank you again, just because!!

Hi Lewis! I hope you're well?
Responding as quickly as possible! Metropolis is a movie from the early twentieth century (art deco period) while Shakespeare lived and wrote plays from the middle 16th century to the early 17th. For a graphic design project, the professor would set guidelines - as in the poster must reference the time period of Shakespeare and give visual clues to his period. If that is the case, and generally speaking, designers do not want to confuse viewers of their art, rather they want to communicate a clear message - and usually the gist of the message is transmitted visually, so coalescing periods would not be a good idea.
That said, if joining two visual styles HELPS communicate her message, then it is a very good idea. For instance, if the teacher asked her to create a poster for a reinterpretation of a Shakespeare play that is set in the early twentieth century. Or if the teacher asked her to promote a Shakespearean play to an early twentieth century audience - using common elements of their visual style from that time period.
If the project weren't about a play, but rather Shakespeare himself and you wanted to communicate that he was a great thinker of his time - and perhaps ahead of his time, then the Metropolis theme would be an excellent one!
If the project is an English assignment and not a design one, the concept for the poster might be a more open one, but generally speaking design elements (the look of the piece) should Always help communicate the message. What is your sister's message?
So basically I don't have enough information to answer specifically - and the teacher should have given further guidance! That's ridiculous. He is paid to help her!
I hope that helps! I'll try to check back after 6, my time, but I won't be back on the computer till the very late evening after that.
I'm sending her good luck!
PS - If it were my project, I would probably use black ink and blood red (if its a bloody play :) for the text and print it on parchment paper with a quill looking drawing (varying thickness of the lines - curvilinear ones) or maybe use an oil painting image if I had time to paint one or could find a suitable one. I would probably hand draw everything, then scan it and add the type, but it could all be hand done.
Hey, Miranth! Hope you are doing well today. I loved your ideas for the Bard's play poster! Talented, sweet, kind, funny...well, now I'm jealous! :) Thank you for the sweet words you post for me and J., we appreciate them more than you know. It can be a madhouse at Mayo's at times, but it is worth it, I really believe that. It has brought so many people together, and for that I will always be grateful.
I hope you don't mind me using this for a moment, since SOMEBODY still doesn't have a blog (hint, hint!) :),
LEWIS,
I left you a comment at my blog on the same post you left yours. I put up a new post right after so I wasn't sure if you had seen it. Love ya!
Thank you, Miranth!
Love ya,
L.
Hi L - I appreciate your friendship very much - and you're right mayo helped bring this all about. :)
Something is wrong with blogger and yahoo, but I will get back as soon as possible. (They are possessed - perhaps its the holiday 'spirit'?) :D
You're welcome to use this space to contact lewis whenever you like - but as a return favor - please tell J I said hi and I hope she's doing well!
Thank you and take care of yourself! I am glad to see you 'out and about'
