Selected poems...
A word on Dandelions
Beautiful petals, buttery yellow
Watch the dusk fade away
Pull their green blankets over their heads
And await the next day
A shimmery glint on the horizon
As the sun descends the sky
Yellow petals
Sunshine yellow
Are drawn open by
The prospect of
A New Day
Sky Picking
I woke up today, and thought why
Don't I go to the park and pick a bouquet of sky
It's a perfect bloom, just enough of blue
With soft white swirling in contrast
So I put on my best sky picking outfit
(A soft dress with a blue ribbon)
Found the best vase I could find
Loped out the door, blew up a balloon
And floated to the park, leaving my bed behind
I landed on a hill high enough to reach
Those beautiful pieces of sky,
Reached out my hand, picked bunches at a time
And arranged them as I liked.

Hi miranth, how are you? I miss you bunches! I'm glad to hear the good news about your niece. I hope she'll enjoy her summer vacation.
Those are some beautiful poems you have posted. I hope I'll hear from you soon. Take care
*hugs*
Good to see you out and about again, over at Mayo's =)
It sounds like you've been having a busy time of it. Busy can be good, right?
Looking forward to reading more of you around when you're able to =)
Hi BC *big hugs* I miss you, too!
I have little time, so sorry for the delay! I appreciate the visit. The poetry is my niece's. She'll appreciate your praise :)
Good luck with your new endeavors - and know that we are not in charge of everything, so don't take obstacles to heart. Find a way around them :)) I know you can do it! Positive thoughts are being sent your way :)
PP - Yes I am very busy! (not necessarily in a bad way :)
Thank you for your thoughtfulness. :) I'll try to visit there more often, as I can. I enjoy seeing everyone there, but often when I am on few others are about :((
I hope to see you there soon and I'll check over at your place :)
According to UK playground folklore, dandelions make you wet yourself if you pick them when they're still yellow.
This has been so ingrained in my psyche that I've never had the courage to try. I also clap my hands everytime I sneeze, to rouse the fairy I just knocked over...
Hiya Miranth! I just wanted to say thank you for your words! It really doesn't feel that way sometimes! So thank you for saying that! I hope you are well? Asolutely lovely poems you've written! Thank you for sharing them! -I hope you are well, loves! -l/d
Miranth, I miss you ♥
Miranth,
Thank you for stopping by. I missed you tons. Are you considering moving?
If so, I wish you the best of luck with that, and with all your future endeavors. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Yeah, it seems I might be going back to my old college and finish up my criminal justice degree there. When I started a couple of years ago, I was going for my Associate's degree, but I think this time I'll go for a Bachelor's.
I'm hoping that they'll offer internships because long ago I was interested in interning for the FBI. I mentioned this a while back at Mayo's, but it seems some anon was mocking my ambitions. Too bad for them, because I don't have any intentions to be a stay-at-home housewife anytime soon. I'd like to do something exciting, so we'll see what happens.
Take care. I hope to hear from you soon. i hope your niece is doing okay. *hugs*
kass - my niece will be clapping every time she sneezes, now just to let you know, :) We're all wondering what's going on, then I remembered! I thanked you for visiting at mayo's, but thank you again!
lewis - you should be able to say what you please there to whomever. I know I do - and suffer the consequences at times! But oh well...
The thing is when people are being rude to you, its because they want to extract info from you - I know that and still fall in the hole sometimes! But I am now ignoring all the fun being made of me about 'knowing' - as I won't give them the satisfaction!
*giggling*
Visit as often as you like and say whatever you like - just be sure to ignore the fallout later - especially as it has more to do with the source of the fallout...
:)
Take care, lewis - and I hope you get this message as I can't get to your profile.
BC - I am seriously considering a move, as my friends and I are all in temp. positions at the moment. That may change, so we are all waiting on word. The job market is so bad here that employers know they can screw with you as long as they like - denying benefits, full-time employment etc. but we've all set a date beyond which we are leaving, come what may. The date has been pushed back once already, though, as they keep telling us that their new policy is to expect a longer 'trial' period. You can waste a whole year of your life waiting. It really sucks. But at least we do have work, unlike many.
You should go for your bachelors. Some positions you are not even considered for without one. And then again, as you pursue employment, sometimes a company that really likes you will offer you a different position than the one you seek. I made the mistake once of turning the offer down. It was for PR (apparently I have a way with people.) If this happens to you, seriously consider the offer they make because often the personnel people know what they are doing. :)
PS - BC when the anons mock you, its because they are jealous. :) Or they want you to slip up. In either case, don't give them the satisfaction. :)
PS - The poems are my niece's - not my own. I can't write poetry half so well. I did credit here, but in tiny type because I didn't know if she wanted her name here.
We haven't talked in a while. But I just wanted to say Happy Birthday. I hope you have a great time.
